Andre Caldwell's Two Cents

NFL players have taken part in the national Tebow debate, too. One of Tebow's former college teammates, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Andre Caldwell, recently offered a balanced and candid analysis of Tebow's abilities.
``He's going to learn,'' Caldwell told a writer for his team's website. ``I don't think he's going to be an elite passer ever, but he's a playmaker. He'll get the ball there. He probably can't make the prettiest-looking passes, but he's going to use what he has to his advantage — running, scrambling, making passes.''
At the opposite end of the Tebow debate are opinions like the one expressed by Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne in March. During a radio interview with WQAM, Henne said, ``My judgment is that he's not an NFL quarterback. I'll leave it at that.''
The Dolphins' coaching staff worked with Tebow during the Senior Bowl in January. Henne softened his opinion, saying that ``wherever [Tebow] goes, he's going to make that team better because he's a competitor and great person.''
Henne received instruction while at the University of Michigan from the same position coach who worked with Tebow during his senior year at UF. Gators quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler spent time last spring teaching Tebow the footwork of a pocket passer. Tebow worked primarily out of the shotgun in high school and college.
``I know Chad really well. Chad loves Tim,'' Loeffler said. ``I think probably he got caught up in the moment, and that's not Chad Henne, and that's certainly not Tim Tebow.''
Henne can take comfort knowing that when it comes to Tebow, many seem to lose themselves in the moment. Who is Tebow?
He is a lot of things, but is he a future star quarterback in the NFL?
